Based on the beloved 1993 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture written by Barry Berman and Leslie McNeil, Benny & Joon is directed by Jack Cummings III, Artistic Director of New York's Transport Group.

A veteran teacher of students with special needs for over twenty years, he instructs, inspires, and empowers his students to a path of acceptance and joy through the magic of the arts and the power of music. He also happens to be my father. So when he called to tell me that a 'Broadway guy' would be visiting his school to act as principal for the day, my interest was very easily piqued.
