In essence, there is not much to Conor McPherson's intimate play; four men drink in a remote Irish pub, entertain a female newcomer with ghost stories and then leave. However, The Weir is a taut and unexpectedly gripping insight into rural communities, isolation, loss and loneliness.

The full casts are today announced for English Touring Theatre, Royal & Derngate, Northampton and Rose Theatre Kingston's production of Sam Holcroft's Rules for Living and English Touring Theatre and Mercury Theatre Colchester's production of Conor McPherson's The Weir, twenty years after its world premiere at the Royal Court.
Gemma Bodinetz to Direct Bristol Old Vic's JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK
Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz will direct Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock in a major co-production with Bristol Old Vic. The cast will be led by Niamh Cusack as the eponymous Juno and Des McAleer as her husband Jack Boyle. The production is at Bristol Old Vic from 5 to 27 September before moving to the Liverpool Playhouse from 1 to 18 October.
