Lou Trapani, a veteran theater aficionado from Brooklyn, was the Artistic & Managing Director of The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck for 25 years. Inspired by live New York television dramas in his youth, Lou pursued a degree in dramatic literature from Hofstra University. Between 1969 and 1983, he thrived in New York’s professional theater scene as an actor, writer, director, and producer. Despite personal and financial challenges, he remained dedicated to his passion, later earning a Master's in Public Administration from CUNY while working in the nonprofit sector. Lou returned to the theater at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck where he remained the steward and visionary until his passing in 2024.
