David Hyde Pierce to Emcee Annual 'Forget-Me-Not' Gala
Tony Award winning actor David Hyde Pierce will join members of New York City's philanthropic, business, health care and Alzheimer's communities on Monday, June 4, 2018 at The Pierre, at the annual "Forget-Me-Not" Gala hosted by CaringKind, New York City's leading expert in Alzheimer's and dementia care for more than three decades. The event is expected to raise $1.5 million. The fundraiser will be chaired by Liz Hirsh and David Hirsh, CaringKind Board Chair.

The pilot program, called "With Music in Mind," marks the first time CaringKind's connect2culture program - an initiative that helps cultural organizations develop programs for New York's Alzheimer's community - is bringing performing arts programming into the Bronx and Brooklyn. Formerly known as the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter, CaringKind has been New York City's leading expert on Alzheimer's and dementia caregiving for more than 30 years.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and Tony Award winning actor David Hyde Pierce deserve a standing ovation for their recent donations to CaringKind, NYC's leading expert in Alzheimer's and dementia care for more than three decades. The non-profit recently received a $25,000 contribution from BC/EFA, which was matched by Pierce for a total of $50,000 that will fund CaringKind's free programs and services for the thousands of individuals, families and caregivers affected by an Alzheimer's or dementia diagnosis.

DYEING TO END ALZHEIMER'S ... PURPLE NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD New York Initiative
Dozens of purple-haired New Yorkers gathered at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park this afternoon to raise awareness about Alzheimer's - adisease that currently affects 5 million Americans - including more than a quarter million people in New York City. Purple is the official color of the Alzheimer's Association.

Forget-Me-Not Alzheimer's Benefit Will Honor Laurie Metcalf and THE OTHER PLACE
The Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter announced today that the 2013 Creative Leadership Award will be presented to Tony nominee, Laurie Metcalf and Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of 'The Other Place' at its annual 'Forget-Me-Not' Gala, An Evening to End Alzheimer's taking place on Monday, June 3, 2013 at The Pierre. The Chapter will recognize Metcalf's brilliant performance in a drama that movingly - and realistically - portrays the devastating emotional impact of early onset dementia. Metcalf is extraordinary as a physician struggling with the challenges and frustrations of declining cognition and family conflict. More than five hundred members of New York City's philanthropic, business, health care, theater, and Alzheimer's communities will gather for this annual benefit that will raise $1.2 million to support programs, services and research to benefit the New York City Alzheimer's community.

The New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association offered a Thursday, May 2, 2013 performance of Broadway's VANYA and SONIA and MASHA and SPIKE, the new comedy by Christopher Durang starring Tony and Emmy Award Winner David Hyde Pierce and Tony and Academy Award nominee Sigourney Weaver. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will support the free programs and services offered by the New York City Chapter, as well as research. Garber, star of stage and screen, emceed the event. An ardent supporter of the Chapter, he lost both parents to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
