JACK Announces 2022 Summer/Fall Season
Brooklyn performance and civic space JACK has formed an explosive line up for its summer/fall 2022 season, with the premiere of two theatrical works: Hoi Polloi’s White on White, and powerhouse duo Peter Mills Weiss & Julia Mounsey with their play Open Mic Night, dance works by Kensaku Shinohara and TRIBE, and a dance-party-performance by The Dragon Sisters. OBIE-Winning Theater Company Hoi Polloi Returns to JACK with WHITE ON WHITE
OBIE-winning theater company Hoi Polloi (Three Pianos; All Hands) returns to JACK with a peek inside the meeting of a white anti-racist group. As the members reckon with sacrifices they must make to live up to their principles, other forces begin to disrupt and unsettle their efforts. An uncanny ode to honesty, forgiveness, and accountability, this ensemble tour de force pulls the audience on a descent from the too-real to the sub-real.

99 and Under the Radar: Being forced to not look away...
The concept of Ajax in Iraq by Ellen McLaughlin is one that instantly intrigues. Taking the classic Sophocles legend and drawing parallels to the war in Iraq certainly raises an eyebrow or two. That being said, even though I am sure this play is an engaging read, when put into the hands of the masterful Flux Theatre Ensemble it becomes all encompassing. Flux has chosen to call it's current season of theatre 'Don't Look Away' and this very accurately describes the inner monologue of the audience at this fascinating production. It's rare to have an experience at the theatre that won't let you go, but this is one of those occasions.
