Loretta Lynn has long been established as the undisputed Queen of Country Music, with more than 50 years of recording and touring to her name. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Lynn was one of the most distinctive performers in Nashville in the 1960s and 1970s. She shook up Nashville by writing her own songs, many of which tackled boundary-pushing topics drawn from her own life experiences as a wife and mother. "Coal Miner's Daughter," "Fist City" and "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)" are just three of 16 country No. 1 singles. She has sold over 45 million records worldwide. Lynn's latest studio album, Wouldn't It Be Great, (Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment) will be released Friday, September 28.

Mountain View is one of my favorite little towns in Arkansas. It is steeped in history and beauty but notable for the music performed regularly there. Many have made the pilgrimage to play around the square, and during the most recent Mountains, Music & Motorcycles Rally, SOFIE AND THE NEW RELICS added to the growing bands that fill the air with melodious sounds that resonate with the majestic mountains and add to the lore of the region.

This fall, Great Performances presents Patsy Cline: Walkin’ After Midnight, a star-studded concert filmed at the historic Ryman Auditorium, Patsy’s home stage in Nashville, to celebrate her life, legacy and music. The concert features artists from numerous genres including Kristin Chenoweth, Wynonna, Ashley McBryde, Grace Potter, and more.

Grammy-nominated artist T. Graham Brown was inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry on Friday, May 3rd, by Opry member Vince Gill. They were joined onstage by Opry members John Conlee, The Isaacs, Don Schlitz, Jeannie Seely, and Mark Wills, who all wanted to participate in the induction and welcomed Brown to the family.
