Doreen Tipton has been crowned Best Pantomime Newcomer at the Great British Pantomime Awards for her role as the Lazy Empress Of China in Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's 2016/17 pantomime, Aladdin. The Great British Pantomime Awards was launched this year to celebrate and recognise outstanding achievements across the country for the 2016/17 pantomime season. Held at London's Theatre Café on Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End,Doreen Tipton and Grand Theatre Chief Executive Adrian Jackson accepted the award from host Christopher Biggins, who himself appeared in a production of Aladdin at the Grand Theatre in 2010/11.
