Manhattan Assoc. of Clubs & Cabarets Award

Award winning vocalist Lisa Asher has appeared in numerous theatrical, cabaret and concert venues around the country. Ms. Asher is the recipient of a New York Nightlife Award, a Back Stage Bistro Award and a MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs & Cabarets) Award, all for outstanding female vocalist for her cabaret shows in New York City. Ms. Asher has performed numerous times for the Mabel Mercer Foundation’s Cabaret Conventions in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Chicago and at Town Hall in NYC, and was featured as part of their 20th Anniversary Gala performance at Lincoln Center.

Recent theatrical credits include: Barb in Motherhood, The Musical at The Downtown Cabaret Theatre; Sister Robert Ann in several productions of Nunset Boulevard; Bess Earp in the world premiere of the musical I Married Wyatt Earp at Bristol Riverside Theatre. Lisa also appeared in the world premiere of Almost Heaven, John Denver’s America for the Tony Award Winning Denver Center Theater Company and she can be heard on the original cast recording of the same. Lisa toured nationally with the Broadway show The Who’s Tommy and appeared in the Off Broadway hit Woody Guthrie’s American Song which received a Drama Desk Nomination for Best Musical. Lisa was featured in a concert tribute to Woody Guthrie produced by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where she shared the stage with such rock and folk notables as Bruce Springsteen, Indio Girls, Ani DeFranco, Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie.

Lisa made her national television debut in a solo vocal performance on the Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show. A veteran studio musician, Ms. Asher can be heard on television themes, audio projects for numerous publishing companies as well as commercial and educational children's products, including product for Sesame Street and Berlitz.
