Glasgow and Winnipeg to Host 2023/2024 Science Fiction Conventions
The Business Meeting of Chicon 8, the 2022 World Science Fiction Convention, has announced the host cities for the 2023 North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC) and the 2024 World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon). These cities were selected by a vote amongst the members of Chicon 8.

The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) today announced the nominees for the 23rd Annual IRNE Awards, which honor the best of the previous year's actors, directors, choreographers, designers and companies across the full spectrum of large, mid-size and fringe theater companies. Moulin Rouge!, a new musical produced by Global Creatures, and An American in Paris, produced by the Ogunquit Playhouse, led with 12 and 11 nominations, respectively, in the Large Stage Musical Category. The Huntington Theatre led all companies with 31 nominations across seven productions, including 11 for Man in the Ring, the story of six-time world champion prizefighter Emile Griffith.
MRT Rings in the Holidays with MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY
Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will celebrate the holidays with the imaginative and radiant Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, a sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, from November 28 to December 23 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre at Liberty Hall, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of its Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) with the kickoff of the recently formed HSMT Alumni Association. Graduates and supporters of the HSMT program from the past four decades joined for an evening of celebration and reunion as they mixed and mingled amidst the backdrop of the HSMT rehearsal rooms, complete with wine and hors d'oeuvres from City Kitchen.
Economic Recovery Funds For The Arts
The Broward County Cultural Division will receive a grant of $250,000 for salary assistance to local arts organizations from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), through President Obama's economic stimulus package-American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
