NJSO Performs Free Summer Concert At Ocean County College On June 26
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performs a free outdoor concert of Broadway songs, opera overtures and more at Ocean County College in Toms River on Tuesday, June 26, at 8 pm. This event is sponsored by JCP&L/FirstEnergy Foundation and PNC Bank and presented in partnership with Ocean County College.
Xian Zhang Extends NJSO Music Director Contract
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra today announces internationally renowned conductor Xian Zhang has extended her initial four-year term as NJSO Music Director for an additional four years. The contract extension secures the acclaimed conductor's leadership of the NJSO through the 2023-24 season.
NJSO Adds 7 New Members to Board of Trustees
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra welcomes seven new members and three returning members to its Board of Trustees. Charged with establishing policies that assist in the successful implementation of the NJSO's mission and vision, the board comprises members who are among the most in-demand institutional leaders across the state. Individual members are among the Garden State's most significant philanthropists, and corporate members hold key leadership positions in industries such as banking, medical, communications, technology and utilities.
Norm Lewis Brings MUSIC OF THE NIGHT to NJSO POPS Today
Broadway, film and television star Norm Lewis headlines NJSO POPS programs featuring music from his famous theater roles and album, this weekend, beginning tonight, April 15. It continues through April 17 in Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick. Lewis -- who replaces previously announced singer Cheyenne Jackson, who was forced to withdraw for scheduling reasons -- has garnered critical and audience acclaim and made history as Broadway's first African-American Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. Frequent NJSO guest conductor and audience favorite Thomas Wilkins conducts.

NJ Symphony Presents an All-Gershwin POPS Program, 4/19-20
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents an all-Gershwin NJSO POPS program in New Brunswick and Newark, tonight, April 19 and the 20th. Conductor Gerald Steichen returns to the NJSO stage to conduct the Orchestra in Gershwin favorites including An American in Paris, Cuban Overture and selections from Porgy and Bess and Girl Crazy, along with songs from the composer's rich canon.
