A former Disney Latin America television star turned writer, director, and producer, Liesl grew up on theater stages, television sets, and in front of cameras before moving behind the scenes, where she now works to develop and oversee live entertainment shows and video productions.
Born and raised in Mexico, Liesl moved to New York City in 2017 to pursue her dreams of making it in the entertainment capital of the world. Her journey was challenging, but her resilience and cultural pride pushed her forward. Today, she represents the power of perseverance and the importance of representation in an industry where Latinos are vastly underrepresented despite being a large portion of the U.S. population.
Since arriving in New York City, work behind the camera has included projects for Walt Disney Studios, Target, Netflix, Better Help, Annie Selke, and others. Separate from those projects, she is a Senior Producer for Hearst Magazines, responsible for the development and production of all video content for Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Liesl is also a Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Teague Theatrical Group, where she oversees the company's overall creative vision across its theater, film, and television units. Teague Theatrical Group won its first Tony Award as a producer of STEREOPHONIC, the most Tony-nominated play of all time, and provided financing to support APPROPRIATE, which won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Revival Play. It is also part of the producing team bringing a musical adaptation of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES to Broadway, the first in history where the core creative team of book writer, composers, choreographer, and director are all Latinx. This groundbreaking project underscores Teague Theatrical Group and Liesl's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
