Liam Redford

Born and growing up in Central New Jersey with his parents, older sister, and twin brother, Liam Redford is happiest when he is performing for an audience. When he was very young, Liam started taking gymnastics at Envision Gymnastics. Soon after, he was asked to try out for Vortex All Stars competitive cheer team. After a few years tumbling and doing cheer choreography, Liam wanted to give the world of dance a shot, and that was all it took. His love affair with dance officially began. Liam studied a variety of styles at Dansations School of Dance. His favorite styles were contemporary and musical theatre. He tried out for their competitive dance team and was made a member. While competing, Liam won many awards and titles. He understands the importance of a solid training in ballet, and was fortunate enough to study ballet at The Rock School For Dance Education in Philadelphia, PA. Liam attended his first Broadway show in the spring of 2016. He saw Tuck Everlasting and loved everything about it. Liam was bitten by the Musical Theatre bug! In an effort to perfect his craft, he accepted a scholarship for the Musical Theatre program at Joffrey Dance in New York. Since then, it has been his dream to perform. In 2017, Liam was told that The Road Company at The Grand Theatre in New Jersey was looking for a boy to play the role of Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM). He auditioned and was grateful to be cast in the title role as his stage debut. Billy is a role that Liam's parents dreamed he would have an opportunity to play, and it appeared to be a role that was meant for him! Liam won the theatre's Julie Award for Best Actor in a Musical. The Grand's BETM was awarded The NJACT Perry Award for Best Production of a Musical. Additionally, Liam has performed in many acts in their production, A Grand Cabaret. Since his first BETM production, Liam has played the role of Billy several times. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to share Billy's heart-warming story with audiences at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and with City Springs Theatre in Sandy Springs, GA. Liam looks forward to many more experiences and the opportunity to share his talent and passion with the world.
