BIO
Lewis Rawlinson was born and raised in Montana in a very musical household. He began singing and performing at three years old. Lewis began playing the cello at age nine, which quickly became his passion and main artistic pursuit. He went on to play with many professional ensembles, including two international tours to Asia, and a performance of Saint-Saens' "La Muse et le Poéte" concerto for violin and cello with the Billings Symphony Orchestra. Lewis studied Cello Performance for two years at Lynn University’s Conservatory of Music.
Returning to his roots, Lewis began actively pursuing musical theatre in 2012. He made his stage debut playing Gabe in Next to Normal at Venture Theatre in his hometown of Billings, Montana. Lewis then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to continue performing. His Bay Area credits include: Triassic Parq (Theatre Bay Area Award Nomination - Best Actor, Ray of Light Theatre), The Addams Family (Bay Area Premiere, Contra Costa Civic Theatre), Godspell (TBA Award nomination - Best Actor, OMG I Love That Show Productions), Les Misérables (Broadway By The Bay), and Urinetown (Los Altos Stage Company). In addition to theatre, he continued to perform cello with classical ensembles and several indie/folk bands.
Lewis then journeyed to Chicago, his current place of residence, in 2015. His Chicago theatre credits include: Barney the Elf (originated role, The Other Theatre Company), High Fidelity (Refuge Theatre Project), and Tug of War: Foreign Fire (understudy, Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Lewis is looking forward to playing Peter in Refuge Theatre's upcoming production of bare: a pop opera this fall!
