Magis Theatre Company adds performances of *mark through April 29th
Coming to a theater in Hell’s Kitchen in April is *mark - A Solo Performance of the Gospel of Mark with actor George Drance in the sole role of storyteller. This work, with music by the late Elizabeth Swados, was performed originally at LaMama ETC, where Drance has been a resident artist. This production is directed by Jackie Lucid.

MIRACLE IN RWANDA Comes to the Apollo Theater
Last March 17, 2019, the story of a remarkable woman took center stage during the Women Of the World (WOW) Festival, a laser-focused event on gender equality and female empowerment held at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City. It is the story of Immaculee Ilibagiza, a survivor of the horrifying Rwandan Genocide, and the subject of the critically-acclaimed Miracle in Rwanda - a one-woman show written by Leslie Lewis, daughter of the first African American billion-dollar dealmaker Reginald F. Lewis, and Filipino American lawyer, businesswoman and philanthropist Loida Nicolas Lewis.

The new American play ECLIPSED by Danai Gurira just began Broadway previews last night, starring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Pascale Armand, Akosua Busia, Zainab Jah and Saycon Sengbloh. ECLIPSED, directed by Liesl Tommy, will open on March 6, 2016 on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45th Street).
ECLIPSED marks a historic moment on Broadway: the first time the cast, director, and playwright are composed entirely of female artists, fitting for a production that so stunningly chronicles the experiences of a group of very resilient women. To celebrate, the show hosted some of the industry's other trailblazing and history-making women for the first preview. McLean Community Players to Stage Tony-Winning Musical 1776
?The McLean Community Players' production of the musical 1776, based on the events surrounding the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence, opens Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, and runs weekends through Feb. 21 at McLean's Alden Theatre. With music by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone, 1776 became an improbable hit and won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical in 1969. Director Annie O'Neill Galvin leads an award-winning cast and crew for this production.
