Leslie L. Smith

LESLIE L. SMITH has a BA from NYU in Creative Writing and an MA in Educational Theater.. He began his career as a literary intern at The 1991 Young Playwrights Festival. He held positions at Naked Angels, New York Theater Workshop, Four Corners Productions, and The Liminal Stage. He founded Revelation Theater which he operated from 2000-2005. There Smith directed Temporary Help, Tennessee Williams One Arm, Lovelace! The Musical , developed other new plays, and hosted the only NYC pre-Broadway reading of The Color Purple. Smith’s plays include Somewhere In Between (Carousel Theater Co): his one-man show Finding My Voice On The F-Train (Naked Angels, NYTW and The Public); The Usual Way and The Same Kind Of Love. He also wrote, produced, and directed the feature film David Searching. After a hiatus of several years in which Smith worked in 9/11 recovery and other disaster related Social Services, he is returning to his first love of theater and has several projects headed for the boards.
