CTG Selects Local Teachers for August Wilson In-School Residency
Center Theatre Group has selected four local high school teachers from three different high schools in Los Angeles to participate in the 2017 August Wilson In-School Residency Program. The in-school residency is a semester-long program that provides Title 1 students with an in-depth study of the work of prolific African American playwright August Wilson and provides opportunities for them to discover their own creative voices.
CTG to Honor 2015-16 Student Ambassador Program Participants
Center Theatre Group honors 24 high school students for participating in the 2015- 2016 Student Ambassador Program, a six-month program that allows students to build leadership and teamwork skills in a creative environment that promotes the arts.
Photo Flash: Three Local Students Top CTG's 2016 August Wilson Monologue Competition
From a field of 12 local high school students, Damaris Vizvett, Samuel Christian and Aryana Williams have been selected as the top three performers in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) regional finals hosted at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum on Monday night, February 29, 2016. Vizvett and Christian will go on to represent Los Angeles in the national finals on May 2. This year's competition featured high school students from three Southern California counties. CTG Hosts First Annual College & Career Fair Today
Center Theatre Group invites current high school students, parents and teachers to attend the first annual College & Career Fair For The Arts today, February 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Presented in collaboration with the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) Foundation, the fair will take place at the Music Center Annex located at 601 W. Temple St. in Downtown L.A.
