Marin Shakespeare Company Announces 2018 Season

Marin Shakespeare Company, Marin County's only professional Shakespeare theatre, announces its 2018 outdoor summer season - a season exploring complex and compelling men and women. Presented under the summer stars, Marin Shakespeare's 29th season includes "Hamlet," "Shakespeare's Will," a spirited and sensual imagining of the life of Anne Hathaway by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, and "Pericles." The 2018 season is in partial repertory, with performances beginning in May and ending early August. There will be some Thursday evening performances this year. The theatre plans to make major renovations to the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre following the 2018 summer season.

As it looks towards celebrating its 25th Anniversary season in 2014, Marin Shakespeare Company wraps up its current summer season this weekend presenting final performances of its outdoor productions of 'All's Well That Ends Well' at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 'A Comedy of Errors' at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.

The San Francisco Gate has compiled a list of Shakespearean plays which will take place this summer throughout the Bay Area. Some 28 of the Bard's works are on offer this summer from the usual ('Romeo and Juliet,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' 'Twelfth Night,' 'Macbeth') to such rarities as his first, goriest tragedy, 'Titus Andronicus' (opening Cal Shakes' season), and the late, odd 'Cymbeline' (S.F.
