Eva Cassidy Album Featuring Previously Unreleased Recordings Coming in September
WALKIN’ AFTER MIDNIGHT will be released digitally on September 6 with a physical release scheduled for November 8 from Blix Street Records. The Irving Berlin standard “Blue Skies,” Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and the title track, “Walkin’ After Midnight,” are now available via all digital outlets.

Called 'an oasis of good-natured ribbing in a fiercely partisan world' by The Washington Post, the Capitol Steps have slayed the country with their hilarious send-up of the people and institutions that once employed them. Their sketch and improvisational comedy offers a mix of song and standup, lampooning modern political leaders, and tackling major current issues. No issue or public figure, Democrat or Republican, can escape this satire. The Capitol Steps will be performing Make America Grin Again 3:00pm & 7:00pm, Sunday, April 14 at the Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Rd., Saratoga. Eva Cassidy's SONGBIRD album was initially released by independent label Blix Street Records in April, 1998. The posthumous release, an anthology of recordings by the Washington, DC-based singer who had died in November of 1996, is comprised of four tracks from her first solo album, LIVE AT BLUES ALLEY(taken from her January 3, 1996 performance with her band at the Georgetown jazz club and locally released a few months before she died); five tracks from EVA BY HEART, the studio album she was recording at the time of her passing, posthumously released locally a year after she died; and one track (Over The Rainbow) from THE OTHER SIDE, a 1992 collection of jazz and blues duets with Washington's Chuck Brown.
