Synchronicity Theatre's 2020-2021 Season, opening October 5, 2020, will feature hybrid 'In the Theatre' and 'On the Screen' formats to reach more audiences and provide socially-distanced opportunities to view smart, gutsy, bold theatre whenever possible.

Synchronicity Theatre's Lee Nowell To Step Down As Managing Director
On June 30, 2018, Lee Nowell will step down as Managing Director of Synchronicity Theatre. Ms. Nowell, an acclaimed and award-winning playwright, is leaving the position in order to fully-commit and focus on a variety of creative projects. Beginning July 1, 2018, Virginia (Gin) Nugent will serve as Interim Managing Director, and will temporarily assume Ms. Nowell's roles and responsibilities. She will not be a candidate for the permanent position. An official search for a full-time Managing Director will begin in mid-July 2018.
Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre To Produce Jennifer Barclay's RIPE FRENZY
Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre will produce the rolling premiere of Jennifer Barclay's new play, Ripe Frenzy. The winner of the 2016 NNPN Smith Prize for Political Theatre, Ripe Frenzy tells the story of a mass shooting in a small American town. Told from multiple points of view, and through the lens of Thornton Wilder's classic play, Our Town, Barclay examines all sides of a tragedy that has ruptured the spirit a once idyllic community. Performances run from April 13 to May 6, 2018.
Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre to present 2018 SHEWRITES New Play Festival
In association with the Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis and Atlanta's Working Title Playwrights, Synchronicity Theatre will present SheWrites, a national playwriting competition for women, February 12 23, 2018 at Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta. The plays that will be workshopped this year are Medica by Daryl Lisa Fazio, Romeo & Naomi Ramirez by Kathryn Walat, and Hands of Color by Kimberly Monks. Synchronicity Theatre to Produce Stage Adaptation of THE MIRACULOUS JOURNEY OF EDWARD TULANE
Synchronicity Theatre will present Dwayne Hartford's stage adaptation of Kate DiCamillo's The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, about a vain porcelain rabbit who learns how to love. Announcing the Winners of Synchronicity Theatre's New Arts Incubator Project, STRIPPED BARE
On January 30, 2017, Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre launched a test-run of Stripped Bare, a new arts incubator project that gives artists a space to create and produce new work. Designed for early-career artists, Stripped Bare focuses on projects that emphasize words and ideas, with minimal technical elements. For this first year, the program was available by invitation only. Invitations were sent to Atlanta-based artists who had at least one paid professional credit, but had not originated or created more than five professional projects.
