Blue Hill Troupe, Ltd. (BHT), New York City’s only theatre group dedicated to raising money for local charities, will mark its 100th Anniversary with a production of H.M.S. Pinafore; or, The Lass That Loved a Sailor—Gilbert & Sullivan’s fourth operatic collaboration and their first international hit.

Blue Hill Troupe Closes Its 99th Season With THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, April 26-30
The Blue Hill Troupe, New York City's only philanthropic musical theater group, will close its 99th season with Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Duty-the duo's third full-length operetta and the only one to have had its world premiere (in 1879) in New York. Blue Hill Troupe's performances of this iconic work will take place at El Teatro of El Museo del Barrio.

One audience member in particular may have a distinct advantage: the show's composer, lyricist, and book writer, Rupert Holmes (honored with Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score of a Musical when the show premiered on Broadway in 1985), who will attend the show at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and give a talk-back following the performance.

Music director Keith Baker and the BRT Concert Band present traditional carols and new arrangements of popular holiday songs sung by BRT favorites Demetria Joyce Bailey, Philip Chaffin, Lauren Cupples, Cristina Farruggia, Robert Farruggia, Laura Giknis, Kevin Toniazzo-Naughton, and Dwayne Washington.

With music by Mitch Leigh, lyrics by Joe Darion, and book by Dale Wasserman, the production is directed by Keith Baker and features the triumphant return of Gypsy star Robert Newman, joined by Sharon Alexander, Julian Brightman, Lauren Cupples, Robert Farruggia, Tamra Hayden, Christopher Roche, Danny Rutigliano, Dwayne Alistair Thomas, and Danny Vaccaro. The cast is supplemented by the ensemble of Rajeer Alford, Daniel Bontempo, Elena Camp, Will Connell, Stephan Dagrosa, John DiFerdinando, Adam Hoyak, Kevin Murray, and Victor Rodriguez.
