Laura is a seasoned theatre director/producer, acting teacher, and talent manager. Most recently, she was the Associate Director on a reading of Wonder, a new musical based on the novel by RJ Palacio. Laura directed a reading of a new musical for Disney Theatricals written by Pasek and Paul. She served as the Associate Director on the play Make Believe by Bess Wohl directed by Michael Greif at Second Stage (NYTimes Critics’ Pick). Laura spent many years working as the Assistant Director on the Pulitzer and TONY winning musical Next to Normal regionally, Off-Broadway, on Broadway and on tour. She directed the premiere Asian productions of Next to Normal in Seoul and Tokyo for Michael Greif. Other Assistant Directing credits include: Superhero (reading) by Tom Kitt and John Logan, Bandstand (lab) directed by Andy Blankenbeuhler, A Very Common Procedure (MCC), Satellites (Public), Get What You Need (Atlantic), Kid Simple (SPF), Avenue Q (Wynn Las Vegas), and Landscape of the Body (Williamstown).
Laura is committed to creative development and nurturing talent. She has produced and directed concerts and readings, including Cutting-Edge Composers, a platform for new musical theatre writers, which has an exclusive spotlight on Broadwayworld.com. Laura is the Artist-in-Residence at Marymount School where she has taught and directed theatre for two decades, culminating in the opening of a newly built state-of-the-art theatre facility. As a professional acting coach, her students have appeared on Broadway, off-Broadway, on tour, regionally, on television and in film.
