Clear Brook High School to Present High School Premiere of LADYSHIP THE MUSICAL
The CB Players will present the high school premiere of Ladyship. Ladyship is inspired by the true stories of some of the 25,000 women convicts sent to the new colony of Australia between 1788-1868. The musical explores their stories as the characters struggle with hunger, sexual harassment, storms and a host of other challenges as they fight to survive a sea journey, they never wanted to take relying on their physical and emotional resilience to carry them through.

Convicted of petty crimes and sentenced to journey to a land they had never known, teenage Irish sisters Alice and Mary are forced to make the treacherous crossing from London to Australia in 1789. With a contemporary alt/pop score by Linda and Laura Good of the band the Twigs,LadyShip reminds us that whether in the 18th century or now, this story is all too familiar - when given no say in their lives or the world around them women will always find their own voice. Based on true events, this is the harrowing story of the 25,000 women who would become the "mothers of Australia," whether they wanted to be or not.

New York Musical Festival Announces Initial Lineup For 2019 Festival
The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) is proud to announce the initial lineup for 2019. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project selections, as well as the Invited Production selections. Now in its sixteenth year, the 2019 Festival will take place July through August at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City. Scott Pyne serves as Executive Director and West Hyler serves as Producing Artistic Director.

Entertainment One (eOne) today announced its new legal drama Burden of Truth (10 x 60) will make The CW Network its U.S. home. The series is executive produced by and stars Kristin Kreuk (Smallville, Beauty and the Beast) as a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case, only to find herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls.
