THE ENCOUNTER: AKRON Announced At Rubber City Theatre, August 10-12
Rubber City Theatre (RCT) announces performances of The Encounter: Akron, a live physical theater work by Kimberly Bartosik/daela (Brooklyn, NY) featuring a cast of professional, pre-professional, and non-professional performers from Northeast Ohio. The Encounter: Akron is developed in partnership with RCT, the National Center for Choreography-Akron (NCCAkron), and CDS Creative Productions. The Encounter: Akron performances take place August 10-12.
Pearl Theatre Presents Stage Version of Classic Ernest J. Gaines Novel, A LESSON BEFORE DYING
Popular area director and playwright Denise O'Neal returns to Pearland's Pearl Theater at the helm of their upcoming production of 'A Lesson Before Dying.' The show, written by Romulus Linney and based on the popular novel by Ernest J. Gaines, is scheduled for performances February 10th through 26th and features a notable cast which includes a returning professional artist along with several faces new to this theater's stage for performances.

DCNT has announced the 2013 Honors recipients. Passion and dedication are the mark of each recipient. The six dancers will be honored on Sunday September 29, 2013, 2:00 pm. The public is invited to celebrate their achievements, enjoy a showcase of selected 2013 Dance Council scholarship dancers and a Silent Auction featuring an irresistible selection of performance and visual arts items and tickets.
Music Director Tim Fowlar Conducts Live Band at TheatreZone Gala Fundraiser
When Broadway and television star Eddie Mekka (Carmine "the big Ragu" Ragusa from Laverne & Shirley TV series) entertains at TheatreZone's gala fundraiser later this month, he'll be backed by a live six-piece band, led by legendary musical director and saxophone player Tim Fowlar. They will be joined by TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni playing drums, Joe Choomack on bass, Tom Weaver on guitar, Mike Santiago on trumpet and Peter Van Wyk on trombone.

The Pearland Theatre Guild will stage another American classic at the Pearl Theater with the opening of critically acclaimed A Raisin in the Sun. Running from tonight, Feb. 1 to 17, Raisin was named the best play of 1959 by the New York Drama Critics Circle and is considered to be one of the great American plays of the 20th Century.
