Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango is set to star as Gloria Gaynor in the upcoming Lifetime biopic, 'I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story'. Lance Gross also has joined the cast in the role of Gaynor’s husband, Linwood Simon.

The 2023 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) will close out its five-day event with the annual Community Day taking place on Sunday, June 18, at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater, 819 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, from noon to 5:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Popular AMC Networks streaming service, ALLBLK, has announced the commission of Involved, a new, scripted dramedy from singer/songwriter/author/actor Omarion. Loosely based on his life, Omarion will star and serve as series Co-Creator and Executive Producer alongside Tommy Morgan Jr., Kevin G. Boyd, Deji LaRay and Michelle Le Fleur.

Several artists hit the two stages including - Ludacris, Flaujae, Ar'mon and Trey, Bre-Z, Molly Brazy, Brie and many more, as well as a surprise appearance by the Democratic candidate in Georgia's Governor election, Stacey Abrams. Tristan "Mack" Wilds and Power star, Michael Rainey Jr., also made guest appearances pumping up the crowd on stage and even doing the Shiggy Challenge dancing to Drake's hit song, In My Feelings.

TV One announced today that production is underway in Atlanta, GA on a new original holiday film, Coins For Christmas. Starring Essence Atkins ('Marlon,' 'Are We There Yet?'), Coins For Christmas tells the story of single mother, Madison Morris, who is struggling to make ends meet - just two weeks before Christmas. A chance encounter leads her on a new path. Atkins stars opposite Stephen Bishop ('Imposters,' 'Being Mary Jane'), who plays Alec Darby, a former pro athlete who is also not doing well financially. The film is slated to premiere on TV One in December.
