BIO

Lana Schwartz is a 19-year-old performer, producer and director. She played the title role in the new musical RUTKA in the show's concerts at Lincoln Center. Other favorite roles include Dot in Sunday In The Park With George, Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Christine in Be More Chill and Charity in Sweet Charity. She was recently chosen as a soloist in a concert with members of the NY Pops, conducted by Jason Robert Brown.

Lana is a graduate of the Professional Performing Arts High School (PPAS) in New York City, and is currently a Sophomore at Harvard University. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity.

In 2019, Lana launched the non-profit venture Nxt Generation Theatrics ("NGT"), a theater company run for teens, by teens. All functions related to both the organization and its productions are performed by teenagers. The organization was formed in order to create more opportunities to empower teens and to help the next generation gain experience and exposure to the arts by jumping in and managing every aspect of creating a theatrical experience. Lana produced and directed their first production, NEXT TO NORMAL, Off-Broadway in June of 2022. It was followed in 2023 by VIOLET (nominated for 8 BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway Awards, including Best Production and Best Director), and in 2024 by FUN HOME, each of which she directed and produced for NGT Off-Broadway. NGT was also featured on the ABC news. To learn more, visit www.NxtGenTheatrics.com and @nxtgenerationtheatrics on Instagram.
