Aaron Sidwell & Louise English Join Cast of BLOCKBUSTER - The Musical
Aaron Sidwell and Louise English are joining Suzanne Shaw and Paul Nicholas to star in the world premiere of BLOCKBUSTER The Musical, which features the chart- busting hits of the legendary song-writing team Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, who dominated the pop world in the 1970s and 1980s.
Cult Musical COOL RIDER Returns to The Duchess Theatre Tonight
Following the rapturous reception of the one-night-only concert at the Lyric Theatre, Cool Rider, the cult musical sequel will return to the West End, cool riding into the historic Duchess Theatre from tonight 15 to Saturday 19 April 2014 (press night Wednesday 16 April at 8.00pm) it was announced today. Strawdog and Victory Gardens' Crip Slam to Present Fully Accessible Performance of MISS MARX: OR THE INVOLUNTARY SIDE EFFECT OF LIVING, 3/13
Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland and Crip Slam, part of Victory Gardens Access Project, announce a fully accessible performance of the world premiere of Philip Dawkins' Miss Marx: or The Involuntary Side Effect of Living directed by Megan Shuchman, Thursday, March 13 at 8 p.m. at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, in the Prince Charitable Trust Rehearsal Room, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. This performance will be fully wheelchair accessible. Audio description, open captioning and a touch tour of elements from the production will also be provided. Immediately following that night's performance there will be a post show talk back with the playwright and director. This performance is pay what you can at the door with reservations requested. In addition to the Victory Garden performance, an ASL performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at 4 p.m. at Strawdog Theatre. The performance schedule for the production running through April 5 at Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway St., is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Single Tickets are $28 and are currently on sale. Gerace, beginning today, November 11 - December 14, at Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway Street. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Friday, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. There is a Preview Party, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., with $50 tickets that include access to a post-performance reception. The 26th Strawdog season includes Conversations on a Homecoming by Tom Murphy, August 23 - September 28, directed by Jonathan Berry; Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and adapted for the stage by Gale Childs Daly, November 8 - December 13. 2014, directed by Jason Gerace and Miss Marx: or the Involuntary Side Effect of Living by Phillip Dawkins, February 24 - March 29, 2014 directed by Megan Shuchman. These productions, plus ongoing late night offerings, are presented at Strawdog's space in the heart of Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, 3829 N. Broadway Street.
