The acclaimed festival Motion Plus Design touches down in North America for the first time at the historic Montalban Theatre in Hollywood today February 23, 2019. "Mr. Burns: a Post-Electric Play," written by Anne Washburn and directed by Kyle Cooper, features a group of survivors after the collapse of civilization. The survivors surround a campfire and reminisce about the plot of an episode of "The Simpsons" television show titled "Cape Feare." The production runs November 9-December 2, 2018 in the Young Theatre on campus with Musical Direction by Craig Shields and Choreography by Angeline Mirenda.

Cal State Fullerton's Fall musical is the warm-hearted family play "Children of Eden" featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, (creator of the Tony-Award winning "Wicked," "Pippin" and "Godspell") with a book by John Caird. The production is directed by professional director and actor Rufus Bonds, Jr. with musical direction by David Lamoureaux and choreography by William F. Lett, running October 26-November 11 in the Little Theatre on campus. "Children of Eden" is a musical telling of the inspirational stories of "Adam and Eve," "Noah and the Ark" and other stories from the "Book of Genesis."

New Plays, Classics, And Musicals Spark CSUF Theatre & Dance 2018-2019 Season
Musical blockbusters "Children of Eden" and "Heathers The Musical" join new plays "bee-luther-hatchee" and "Mr. Burns: A Post Electric Play" and classics "The Cherry Orchard" and "Lysistrata" on the Cal State Fullerton stages in 2018-19. Two world-premiere-packed Dance Theatre productions also headline the schedule. "Theatre is about story-telling and this season we open with a story about who has the right to tell whose story," explains CSUF Theatre & Dance Chair David Mickey. "Our College of the Arts students have the right to tell stories that are thought provoking, timeless, engaging, and entertaining and this season will create challenging and educational opportunities for our students, as well as myriad performance experiences for our loyal audiences in Orange County."
CSU Fullerton's RED SCARE ON SUNSET Opens 10/6 in the Hallberg Theatre
Red Scare on Sunset by Charles Busch, directed by CSUF graduate student Kyle Cooper, runs October 6-29, 2017 in the Hallberg Theatre on campus. Red Scare on Sunset is a funny and frighteningly pure parody of the 1950's Communist invasion of Hollywood. When film star Mary Dale discovers that her own husband has been lured into the local Communist party by way of a method-acting class, she wages a private war to save her husband and conquer the Beverly Hills Commies. The McCarthy era is turned on its head in this novel take on a serious subject. Red Scare on Sunset contains fog, haze, and herbal cigarettes.

Cal State Fullerton's 2017-2018 season opens with Frankenstein based on the novel by Mary Shelley, adapted by Bruce Goodrich and directed by CSUF Professor Maria Cominis, which runs September 29-October 15, 2017 in the Young Theatre on campus. An electrifying new version of Frankenstein will keep audiences mesmerized by the sheer power of Mary Shelley's 19th century classic.
