The Acting Company Announces Complete Casting For WATCH ON THE RHINE Reading

The Acting Company (Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley; Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) announced today complete casting for the first reading in the 23rd John McDonald Salon Reading Series, Lillian Hellman's acclaimed drama Watch on the Rhine. The reading will take place on Monday, March 18 at 7 PM at the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons (416 W. 42nd Street, New York, NY). Tickets are available now online at www.theactingcompany.org.

???????A cast of nine women led by Karen Lynn Gorney bring to life a story of the generational effects of the Holocaust in 'From Silence,' a new play by Anne Marilyn Lucas.  It is widely acknowledged that even as Holocaust survivors are passing on, their trauma lives on in their children and grand children.  This play explores how such trauma is inherited even without being spoken of, seemingly as a genetic or behavioral legacy.  The piece then illustrates that speaking out, processing and understanding can bring healing to families.  This world premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City from November 4 to 20, directed by Peter Zachari.

Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the 1977 movie 'Saturday Night Fever' and 'All My Children,' headlines From Silence, a brand new drama by Anne Marilyn Lucas premiering at Theater for the New City this November. Cast includes Audrey Heffernan Meyer, Krystal Rowley, Lori Funk, Nora Falk, Shannon Harrington, Tori Murray and Jessica Gollin. Additional cast TBA. The production will be directed by Peter Zachari.

Ned Eisenberg (Awake and Sing) and Eileen DeSandre (Lifetime member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival) join the cast of HERO Theatre's benefit reading of "As You Like It", on Monday December 5th, 2011, 7:30PM at the Flea Theatre, 41 White Street, New York City, as part of the company's first reading series.
