20-year Broadway stage veteran, Los Angeles actor and beloved MSU Department of Theatre professor, Greg Reuter, was one of theatre's fiercest supporters and an avid teacher for actors nationwide. Since his untimely death in 2015, support has poured in from across the country to honor a man who always put his students first and changed lives through his dedicated work ethic and charming skill.

TAKE IT FROM THE TOP is a series of exciting, interactive, workshops offered through MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts & Creativity at Wharton Center, running Monday, July 27 - Saturday, August 1, 2015. Participants - from Pre-Teens to Young Adults and beyond - receive a unique opportunity to train with a brilliant team of top Broadway professionals. Former instructors include top Broadway performers such as Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, Billy Porter, who played Lola in 2014's Broadway's Kinky Boots and Shoshana Bean who played Elphaba in WICKED; to name just a few.
Wharton Center & MSU to Open imaGen with CHESS " A Staged Concert
A key part of both Wharton Center's and the MSU Department of Theatre's missions are focused on creative collaboration. This idea has sparked a new artistic endeavor called the i?ma?Gen project. i?ma?Gen partners the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts & Creativity at Wharton Center with the MSU College of Arts and Letters' Department of Theatre and local high schools. Kirk Domer, Chair of the MSU Department of Theatre says, "It's a revolutionary program for MSU and high school students! It will allow them to work with Broadway professionals who regularly visit Wharton Center, and it will attract the highest- quality students providing them exposure to the discipline, focus and creative strength needed to nurture and sustain a thriving performing arts career."

BC/EFA's Broadway Bears XII Raises $152,116
Broadway lovers and teddy bear collectors came together on Sunday, February 15, at the BROADWAY BEARS XII auction, which raised a grand total of $152,116! The event was hosted by Bryan Batt with Lorna Kelly reprising her role as auctioneer. Forty specially made BROADWAY BEARS ? each dressed in original, handmade costumes representing the theater?s most legendary characters - were auctioned to the highest bidder in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Last year?s BROADWAY BEARS raised $130,878 and the grand total for all 12 Broadway Bears auctions is $1,644,077.18 with over 500 bears auctioned.

Broadway's cuddliest friends kicked off a new year with the 12th annual BROADWAY BEARS auction on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill (237 West 42 St.), in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. BroadwayWorld's cameras joined the fun and the caught bidding of the bears!
