BIO

Konstantin Soukhovetski has a uniquely diverse artistic voice that reaches out to both classical and popular audiences.
Konstantin’s multidisciplinary collaboration frequently involves dance and film.
In November 2021 Konstantin will premiere a new ballet “Encounters” by Polina
Nazaykinskaya for MorDance Company.Konstantin and Polina’s collaboration is now
featured on OClassica.com labels’ releases on iTunes and Apple Music: Remembrance,
Anticipation and A Summer Rain.
In the fall semester of 2020 Konstantin joins the faculty of his alma mater The Juilliard
School teaching his interpretation enhancement course Narrative Musicianship based
on Russian acting Method.
In May 2022 Konstantin returns to Mondavi Arts Center in Sacramento, CA and NYC’s
Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
As a composer Konstantin’s solo violin work “Postcard from The Edge” is featured on 2
different CDs of renowned violinist Elmira Darvarova. He is also composing for film and
voice.
As a librettist Konstantin is currently completing a libretto for a new opera commissioned
by Mississippi Opera to be premiered in 2023 season.
Konstantin hosts a podcast Kreative by Konstantin on YouTube where
he talks music and life with some of our generation’s most influential creatives.
Konstantin is a recipient of over 16 awards and is an alumnus of The Juilliard School
where he has earned his BM, MM, and AD degrees under the tutelage of Jerome
Lowenthal.
Konstantin was assistant music director of Polina Nazaykinskaya’s opera Magic Mirror commissioned by Boston’s Juventas New Music Ensemble
Konstantin was music director of a concert performance of La Boheme in Traverse City, MI and a Night of Broadway and Opera performances at Atlantis, Bahamas.
Born in Moscow to a family of artists he studied at the Moscow Central
Special Music School.

MorDance Announces 7th Season

MorDance, known for its commitment to creating new works that straddle the classical and contemporary ballet vernacular, presents Season Seven, April 3-4 at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. With three world premieres woven together by themes of humanity, an ensemble of eight, joined by composer Polina Nazaykinskaya, pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski and lighting designer Becky Hiesler, will push ballet to its limits with fast-paced bravura, intricate footwork, and scenic innovation. Due in part to the contributions by Nazaykinskaya and Soukhovetski, the April 3rdperformance will open with a proclamation from Governor Cuomo, naming the evening the first State-wide celebratory event to commemorate Russian American History Month in partnership with the Russian American Cultural Heritage Center, Inc.
