LA's favorite vintage musical comedy trio, The Apple Sisters, present their hit show “Holidoozy Merry Christ-mess Special” for one night only - a throwback to the days of Big Bands, Slapstick, and Modest Product Endorsement (sponsored by Buddy's Bargain Blowout) with a modern twist. Candy (Rebekka Johnson), Cora (Kimmy Gatewood), and Seedy Apple (Sarah Lowe) entertain the live radio show audience and the “troops overseas” in three-part harmony with their original Christmas tunes.

HollyShorts Announces 400+Films To Screen In Oscar Qualifying Competition For 15th Anniversary
The Oscar-Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival saw a record 6,000 submissions from over 80 countries for their 15th anniversary. The organizers are thrilled to announce that over 400 films from 30 different countries will compete for this year's top prizes during the festival's 10-day run from August 8-17 at TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood. Last year, four HollyShorts finalists were nominated for an Academy Award with three bringing home the gold, including the Best Live Action Short a?oeSkina?? from filmmakers Andrew Carlberg, Guy Nattiv, and Jaime Ray Newman.
GLOW's Kimmy Gatewood to Direct Interactive Series Starring Rachel Crow, Donald Faison
Eko, the trailblazing leader in interactive video entertainment and storytelling, announces Timeline, a digital adventure series produced by Will Gluck's Olive Bridge Entertainment and developed in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Created and written by two-time Blacklist screenwriter Neal Dusedau, executive produced by Scott S. Kramer for Olive Bridge, and directed entirely by Kimmy Gatewood (GLOW), the series will consist of four, 15-minute episodes that invite viewers to influence and experience the storyline through Eko's patented, next-generation interactive streaming technology. Timeline, launching in 2019, was developed under the auspices of a strategic joint venture between Walmart and Eko, dedicated to original, interactive video entertainment.
11th Annual Bushwick Film Festival Set To Take Place October 10-14
The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) has announced the full program for their 11th annual run. This year's Opening Night will be sponsored by Spectrum and kicks off on Wednesday,October 10th with a Red Carpet Reception and screening at House of Yes. The festivities will continue through Sunday,October 14th, with 40+ events ranging from feature and short film screenings to special events, parties and panels. The 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival Announces The 2018 Shorts In Competition Selections
The 49th Annual NASHVILLE Film Festival continues its rollout of film announcements with the short films in competition. This year the festival received nearly 5,000 shorts submissions and 215 shorts were selected. Selected shorts this year include films made by Dev Patel, Justine Bateman, and Neill Blomkamp and starring Natalia Dyer, Armie Hammer, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, and Kerri Kenney.
BWW Interview: Director Kevin Chesley Discusses THE 39 STEPS at Actors Co-op
KEVIN CHESLEY has directed, written and performed sketch comedy for stages like Upright Citizens Brigade (LA and NYC), The iO (Chicago and West), and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. He is a co-founder of TROOP! and The Riot Act, troupes that have performed in venues like The Comedy Central Stage, The HBO Workspace, and The Chicago Improv Festival. For ten years he has directed The Apple Sisters, a staged 1943 radio show that very much helped prepare him to dive into the 1935 world of The 39 Steps. He was also a director for The Hampstead Players Theater Company. A screenwriter, Kevin has written for The Onion, National Lampoon, and MTV's The Hard Times of RJ Berger, as well as screenplays for Warner Brothers, Paramount, Bad Robot, Happy Madison, and 20th Century Fox. He has Executive Produced pilots for both NBC and Cartoon Network. Training: Act One Hollywood, BFA Emerson College. He is currently directing The 39 Steps for Actors Co-op about to open Friday September 22.
