Kimberley Walsh is best known as a member of pop sensation Girls Aloud, one of the UK’s most successful girl groups. Alongside Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Sarah Harding she has sold over 10 million records, released five platinum selling studio albums and 1 platinum selling Greatest Hits album, won a Brit award and played sold-out arena tours. Most recently Kimberley collaborated with Aggro Santos on the top ten hit ‘Like U Like’.
Kimberley’s love of musical theatre was explored in the ITV2 documentary The Passions of Girls Aloud which culminated in her appearance at the Queen’s Theatre, singing ‘On My Own’ in the role of Eponine in Les Misérables. This was the realisation of a life-long dream, having played the role of Young Cosette in Les Misérables when she was twelve years old, and after appearing in the touring production of Evita at the Bradford Alhambra at the age of fourteen.
Kimberley’s presenting credits include Suck My Pop (MTV Viva), Blue Jean Girl (Sky 1), BBC Live Switch Awards, hosting the BAFTA Red Carpet Coverage for E! Entertainment alongside Steve Jones, co hosting The Five O Clock Show with Stephen Mulhern, as a panellist on Let’s Dance for Sports Relief, duetting with Neyo on One Night Stand (ITV2), presenting World’s Greatest Popstar about her idol Beyonce Knowles, 50 Greatest Pop Videos (Channel 4) and presenting live coverage from South Shields for the X Factor Final (ITV1).
Film roles include playing Prissy Polly in the movie of Horrid Henry, and featuring alongside her fellow band members in St Trinian’s.
TV includes Buds, Britannia High (ITV1), The Book Tower, Readabout, The Ward, Stan the Man and This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper.
Kimberley also turned her hand to writing with a weekly column for OK Magazine, designed her own jewellery line, been named as both Yorkshire Young Achievers and Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Woman of the Year 2009, and 2011 has seen her as the face of Puma.
Kimberley continues to work alongside her two favourite charities, Comic Relief (which saw Kimberley climb Mount Kilimanjaro and helped to raise over £10million) and The Haven for which she is an Ambassador.
