John Turturro to Be Honored at CAMERIMAGE Film Festival

Golden Globe nominee and Emmy winner John Turturro (Transformers, Fading Gigolo, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, Transformers: Dark of the Moon); Two-time Academy Award winner Rick Carter (Avatar, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park), and celebrated filmmaker Joan Churchill (Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer, Shut Up & Sing, Kurt & Courtney) will be honoured at CAMERIMAGE, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography, which takes place November 16th – 23rd.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 135 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Those who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2010 to the Academy's roster of voting members. Included in this year's list are Tony Award nominees James Gandolfini (GOD OF CARNAGE) and Anna Kendrick (HIGH SOCIETY), Drama Desk nominee Carey Mulligan (THE SEAGULL), director Adam Shankman ('Hairspray'), and musicians Bono & The Edge (SPIDERMAN: TURN OFF THE DARK).

Last Night, March 7, stars from all over the world came out for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood California. 'The Hurt Locker' won Best Picture and the film's director Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director. Jeff Bridges took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his work in 'Crazy Heart', Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for 'The Blind Side', Christoph Waltz took home Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds' and Mo'Niqe garnered the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Precious'.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards were handed out tonight, Sunday, February 21, 2010. 'The Hurt Locker' swept the awards picking up the honors of Best Director, Original Screenplay and Film, and also winning for Editing, Sound and Cinematography. Colin Firth picked up a Best Actor BAFTA award for his work in 'A Single Man' while Christoph Waltz won in the category of Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds.'
