Forty years on from its debut at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in London in 1982, Michael Fryan’s farce-within-a-farce, Noises Off, returns to Pitlochry Festival Theatre as part of their 2022 summer season. The comedy was last performed in Pitlochry in 2010 and this marks the first professional version of the show in the UK post-lockdown.

The Blue Hill Troupe, New York City's only philanthropic musical theater group, will kick off its 98th season with Urinetown: The Musical, a sidesplitting sendup of greed, love, revolution, and musicals-set in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Tony Award winners Mark Hollmann (music and lyrics) and Greg Kotis (book and lyrics) will attend the show at 2pm on Saturday, November 13, and give a talk-back following the performance.

'Luther's Trumpet' is a fair production with an interesting premise - some parts are more intriguing than others, so the overall impression leaves a little more to be desired. But those electric moments when Luther confronts his adversaries and his stirring speech at the show's close definitely elevate it beyond that 'fair' evaluation into something fascinating.

The Blue Hill Troupe, New York City's only philanthropic musical theater group, will kick off its 96th season with The Mystery of Edwin Drood, a crowd-pleasing interactive whodunita?'based on Charles Dickens's final, unfinished novela?'that invites the audience to help solve a hilariously madcap murder mystery. One audience member in particular may have a distinct advantage: the show's composer, lyricist, and book writer, Rupert Holmes (honored with Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score of a Musical when the show premiered on Broadway in 1985), who will attend the show at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and give a talk-back following the performance.

On a bitter cold blizzard day in January, the Maine theatre community was deriving some warmth and cheer by celebrating its achievements with the 2017 Broadway World Audience Choice award winners. The sixteen theatre artists voted by Maine theatre-goers as the best in each category of performing and technical achievements were selected from a group of 69 finalists, culled from over 9000 nominees rwho epresented less than % of all those in contention for the accolades, and voting for the winners was close and competitive to the very end of the process.

For the third consecutive year Maine State Music Theatre has swept the Broadway World Maine Audience Choice Awards, winning ten of the eleven categories for which it was eligible and taking home a record number of citations for its production of NEWSIES - ten awards, the most a single show has earned here. Other local theaters saw their artists and work recognized, among them the Good Theater, Mad Horse Theatre, Portland Payers, and Some Theatre. Competition was high and voting was often very close, and the runners up deserve special praise as well for being selected as finalists from over 9000 original nominations.
