Shakespeare in the Bar is proud to announce a new leadership team of artists which will allow the group to continue producing work in the years ahead. Co-founders Katherine Bourne and Dylan Key are thrilled to announce that Kevin Butler, Jeffrey Colangelo, Janielle Kastner, Marcus Stimac, and Katy Tye will take over as producers of Shakespeare in the Bar. Bourne and Key are departing to pursue opportunities in Chicago and San Diego respectively, but will continue to be involved in an advisory capacity.

The playground was first constructed in 1956, but has not received any renovations since the 1990s.

After the ribbon cutting, center members of varying ages will jump in the pool and Parks Aquatics Instructors will lead a water aerobics class. It's all set for tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m.

On Friday, May 3, Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey joined Borough President Marty Markowitz; Council Member Stephen Levin; Member of the Beastie Boys, Adam Horovitz; parents of Adam Yauch, Noel and Frances Yauch, and members of the Yauch family; and John Silva of Silva Artist Management, to rename Palmetto Playground in Brooklyn Heights in honor of musician and Brooklyn native, Adam Yauch.
