MNE's Emerging Choreographers Festival Begins February 24
MNE (Mare Nostrum Elements), in collaboration with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, announces the 7th annual EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHER SERIES, February 24 & 25, 7:30 PM at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, 31-10 Thomson Avenue, LIC. If those dates are not convenient for you, we also invite you to attend the dress rehearsal on Sunday, February 23 at 4 PM.
Mare Nostrum Elements Presents 2020 Emerging Choreographer Series
MNE (Mare Nostrum Elements), in collaboration with La Guardia Performing Arts Center, will showcase their seventh annual Emerging Choreographer Series (ESC), an event that celebrates new dances. The program welcomes diversity in both dancemakers and dance styles, including modern, contemporary, tap, and experimental.
Emerging Choreographer Series Announced in Partnership with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center
Mare Nostrum Elements, founded and directed by Kevin Albert and Nicola Iervasi, presents, in collaboration with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, the fifth annual Emerging Choreographer Series (ECS), showing works by nine young dancemakers. The talented choreographers, selected from a group of 79 applicants this year, are indeed fortunate in the many benefits ECS offers.

Winners of the 2014 Joey Awards were announced last weekend at a formal evening ceremony at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Organized and overseen by the Joe Allen Academy of Arts & Bitching (JAAAB), 'The Joeys' are a set of awards given annually for excellence in food service and patronage at New York's City's famous Times Square celebrity hot-spots: Joe Allen, Orso and Bar Centrale.
Photo Flash: In Scena Italian Theatre Festival NY Wraps Inaugural Run
From June 10 to 20, Kairos Italy Theater (KIT) presented the 'In Scena! Italian Theater Festival' NY, the first Italian theater festival to take place annually in all five New York City boroughs and beyond. Laura Caparrotti, Artistic Director of KIT and Founding Director of the Festival, reports that attendance was about 800 people throughout this two-week celebration of Italian theater, which was held in intimate venues in all five boroughs. Hey BroadwayWorld.com! Hello from Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, where we're deep in rehearsals for Les Miserables. This ever-popular musical is making a comeback - literally - and, no, I don't mean an uptick in ticket sales since the movie was released last December. PTC was the first regional theatre to produce Les Mis, in 2007, where it played for 10 sold-out weeks. So it's no surprise that we're here again, just six years later, bringing this amazing story to life.
Pioneer Theatre Presents Design Exhibition SETTING THE STAGE, Now thru 9/29
Pioneer Theatre Company's Loge Gallery has held over its exhibit "Setting the Stage: Fifty Years of Pioneer Theatre Design," a collection of theatrical renderings from dozens of designers whose creations have been brought to life on the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre's main stage since its inaugural season in 1962. The display will appear during the run of PTC's season opener, In the Heights, September 14 - September 29, 2012.
