“Amazingly silky, smooth and emotionally moving." – Gary Powell, Producer/Songwriter
Kenny’s voice can be matched only by the beauty and genuineness of his spirit.
Growing up against the rich cultural and musical backdrop of Austin, Texas is a master class for any burgeoning artist. Deeply entrenched in rock, soul, blues, country & gospel, it was this musical diversity that played a major role in shaping the singer Kenny is today. A trained vocalist, he studied music at the University of Texas and his career has spanned two decades and multiple genres, and continues to thrive.
As a session singer, Kenny’s voice can be heard on numerous radio and television jingles and is featured on various Disney Recordings, gaining critical acclaim for his work on “Disney Baby’s Playtime.” But, it was in musical theatre where he truly blossomed as a singer and performer. Almost overnight, he went from local favorite to two Broadway National tours, eventually landing him in New York City. In 2002, Kenny made his Broadway debut in Disney’s The Lion King. He went on to appear in other musicals such as, The Color Purple and Purlie. However, despite his years of success and love of the theatre, Kenny’s heart beat as a solo artist. He longed to be back at the microphone sharing his heart and soul through song, one-on-one with the audience. In 2008 he made his New York concert debut marking his departure from theatre and return to his first love, as a solo artist. He has since made appearances at Joe’s Pub, B.B. King’s, S.O.B’s, BAM Café and the legendary jazz club, Birdland.
Kenny’s voice transcends time, age, race, gender and genre. He continues to grow as an artist and remains consistently true to his vision in song and musical expression. Like fine wine, his voice continues to get better with time.
