BIO

Kenny Personett is a choreographer and creative director best known for his work on productions of Cabaret, A Chorus Line, In The Heights, Cats, Matilda, and for his portrayal as Action in West Side Story. A Kansas City native, Kenny received his Bachelors degree in Arts Management from William Jewell College and is now both co-director of That’s Entertainment KC and an install creative supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Kenny began his career performing as a dancer for Busch Gardens Tampa, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Princess Cruise Lines. After relocating to Los Angeles, Kenny began extensive training through a work study program at Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio. While in Los Angeles, Kenny choreographed for the LA Choreographers Carnival and danced in the Debbie Reynolds Dance Showcase at the famed, El Portal Theatre.

Regional credits include A Chorus Line, Cabaret, Cats, In The Heights, Hair, Oklahoma, Music of the Night, Tommy, Songs of the Great War (MTH Theater), Matilda (Theatre Squared), West Side Story, 13 (Spinning Tree Theater), Mamma Mia, Chicago (New Theater), and Freaky Friday (A Disney Pilot Production).

Film and Television credits include music videos for Tech N9ne’s Yeah No, Closer Now by Joey Cool, Krizz Kalico’s You, JL’s Petty Bop, Hair Like Lemons by Joseph and the Wanderlust Revival, Jesus Was A Moonwalker, Sunkist Soda and Boost Mobile. Additional credits include Moulin Rouge and Titanic (Corvino Supper Club), the Girls Gotta Eat National Tour and Broadway star/recording artist Deborah Cox.

Kenny's versatile work includes theater, television, film, music videos, documentaries, live events and more. Awards include "Best Choreographer", "Best Actor", and “Best Dance Company” by The Pitch KC, as well as “Best Choreographer” from Broadway World for his work on Cats and “Best Choreographer” nominee for his work on Hair.
