BIO

Keith Carradine is an American actor and musician who has made a name for himself in both the film and theater industry. Born on August 8, 1949, in San Mateo, California, Carradine is the son of actor John Carradine and actress Sonia Sorel. He grew up in a family of performers, with his brothers David and Robert also becoming successful actors.

Carradine's career in theater began in the early 1970s when he appeared in the Broadway production of "Hair." He went on to star in several other productions, including "The Will Rogers Follies" and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." In 2013, he received a Tony Award nomination for his role in the Broadway musical "Hands on a Hardbody."

Carradine's success on stage led to several opportunities in film and television. He made his film debut in 1971 with "McCabe & Mrs. Miller," directed by Robert Altman. He went on to work with Altman again in "Nashville," which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Carradine's other notable film credits include "The Long Riders," "Choose Me," and "The Moderns."

In addition to his film work, Carradine has appeared in numerous television shows, including "Dexter," "Madam Secretary," and "Fargo." He also had a recurring role on the hit HBO series "Deadwood," which earned him an Emmy Award nomination.

Carradine's talent extends beyond acting, as he is also an accomplished musician. He has released several albums throughout his career, including "I'm Easy," which features the Academy Award-winning song of the same name from "Nashville." He has also written music for film and television, including the theme song for the hit HBO series "Deadwood."

Despite his success in both acting and music, Carradine has faced personal struggles throughout his life. He has been open about his battles with drug addiction and alcoholism, which he has credited with hindering his career at times. However, he has also spoken about his journey to sobriety and how it has positively impacted his life and career.

Carradine has been married three times and has three children. His first wife was actress Shelley Plimpton, with whom he had a daughter, Martha Plimpton, who is also an actress. He later married Sandra Will, with whom he had two children, and then married Hayley DuMond in 2006.

In recent years, Carradine has continued to work in both film and television, with appearances in "Madam Secretary," "Ray Donovan," and "The Big Bang Theory." He also starred in the film "The Old Man & the Gun" alongside Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek.

Carradine's contributions to both the theater and film industries have earned him a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. His talent as an actor and musician continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the world.
