BIO
Keenon Hooks, an LA native, began dancing in high school when his mentor Jennifer Infante had him step into his first tap shoe for the musical Crazy for You. From there he found his passion, and his dance career took off. He began training at venues such as Peninsula School of Performing Arts, South Bay Conservatory, Millennium Dance Complex, and El Camino College. While majoring in dance at El Co, he performed in several of their dance productions with the resident company Oui Geometor Dance Company as a principal/featured dancer, and even served as choreographer for a show. With his former management company 5th Amendment Entertainment, he danced for many showcases, back up for new upcoming artists, and for several choreographers in Carnival: Choreographer's Ball during its time at the Hollywood Key Club.
After missing the world of theatre, he ventured back into the land of musical theatre, which led him to attend Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (class of 2009) in Santa Maria, Ca. While attending, he performed in sevaral productions for their regional theatre company PCPA Theaterfest. Once finished with school, he went on to work as a regional actor/dancer/choreographer with companies such as Cabrillo Music Theatre , Norris Theatre, Performance Riverside, Lewis Family Playhouse's Broadway at the Gardens, Actors Repertory Theatre, Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, Relevant Stage Theatre Company, Morgan-Wixson Theatre, Art Attack Foundation, and the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival.
He is currently based in Los Angeles, represented for Equity Theatre by Steven Dry at Connor Ankrum & Associates (CAA), and has taught/teaches at venues such as Beach Cities Dance, Peninsula School of Performing Arts, Norris Center for the Performing Arts, South Bay Conservatory, and Narbonne High School. His specialties in teaching are Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Jazz Funk.
