Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston to Present THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Casting Announced!
Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston will bring the bright lights of 1920's New York City to the stage with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Thoroughly Modern Mille from July 7-17, 2016. Millie will run for eight performances at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452). Directed by Broadway veteran Cynthia Thole (Me and My Girl), Millie will star Gabrielle Carrubba (American Idol Season 11, Spring Awakening) as Millie Dillmount, a small-town girl who arrives in New York City to lead a thoroughly modern life. Millie will also feature Maryann Zschau (Nunsense National Tour) reprising her IRNE Award-winning role as Mrs. Meers (Reagle Music Theater 2006) and IRNE nominee Mark Linehan (Shrek The Musical, South Pacific) as Trevor Graydon. This lavish musical is filled with fabulous flappers, eccentric New Yorkers and soaring musical numbers including "Forget About the Boy" and "Only In New York."

SecondStory Repertory will present Kander and Ebb's rarely produced masterpiece, Kiss of the Spider Woman, a sensual musical set all at once in the brutal reality of a Latin American prison, and in the airily glamorous world of the silver screen that plays endlessly in the mind of long-time prison inmate, Luis Alberto Molina. With a book by Terrence McNally, and based on the Manuel Puig novel 'El Beso de la Mujer Araña', Kiss of the Spider Woman won the 1993 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score. Running March 28 through April 13, 2014, Kiss of the Spider Woman is directed by Billie Wildrick who recently returned to Seattle after her Broadway debut in Kathy Lee Gifford's Scandalous.

In addition, Lila Coogan has been cast in the role of 'Pamela.' Coogan is currently appearing as 'Jane Banks' in the Broadway production of Mary Poppins. The all-star cast also includes Lynn Ahrens, Christian Borle, Carolee Carmello, Sandy Duncan, Gregg Edelman, Christine Ebersole, Stephen Flaherty, Kathie Lee Gifford, Adam Heller, Richard Kind, Robert Klein, Tommy Tune and many others. Special guest David Garrison made appearance as Producer Bernie S. Gerry. The special concert of PAMELA'S FIRST MUSICAL was held on Sunday, May 18 at 3 PM at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) with a reception at Sardi's immediately following. Proceeds will benefit BC/EFA and Theatre Development Fund's Open Doors Program, which Wasserstein founded. This delightful one-act musical, based on Wasserstein's 1996 children's book, tells the story of a young girl from the suburbs who spends an unforgettable birthday with her eccentric, sophisticated Aunt Louise (Murphy) attending a lavish Broadway production and meeting all the glamorous, creative people who made it possible. BROADWAY CARES/ EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fund raising and grant making organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the American theater community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since it's founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $140 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV and other related illnesses.
