Bishop Arts Theatre Company Celebrates 25 Years Of Artistry, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Oak Cliff's premiere multicultural and multidiscipline center for the arts, Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC), is celebrating a milestone this year with the announcement of its 25th Anniversary Silver Threads Season. Executive Artistic Director Teresa Coleman Wash and Board of Directors President Boderick Hall announced this morning a season that is filled with theatre, jazz, special events, a speaker series, arts education initiatives and the return of Langston Hughes' Black Nativity for its 15th year on stage with Bishop Arts Theatre Center. Founder and Executive Artistic Director Teresa Wash was jubilant with the announcement stating, 'For 25 years the Bishop Arts Theatre Center has been a cornerstone of the arts & culture in our community. We have been intentional about being more than a theatre, our goal has been to be a neighborhood resource center for the arts. We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone anniversary!'
Denton Community Theatre presents SMART PRETTY FUNNY
Denton Community Theatre (DCT) is thrilled to present Smart Pretty Funny by Kathleen Anderson Culebro, directed by Mandy Rausch. It is the first show of our 2017-2018 POINTBank Black Box Season. In this intimate venue, DCT is able to offer lesser known, or more experimental theatrical works than on the main stage. This gem of a script has only been produced once before and was written by the founding artistic director of Amphibian Stage Productions in Fort Worth. Director Rausch has assembled a talented group to bring this experience to the Denton stage.

Jaime Castañeda to Direct THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS, Beginning 4/25 at Amphibian Stage
Amphibian Stage Productions today announced that Jaime Castañeda will direct its upcoming production of The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs by Mike Daisey, starring Steven Young. The New York-based director graduated from Fort Worth's Texas Christian University and has directed extensively in the DFW area, most recently The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Diety by Kristoffer Diaz at Dallas Theater Center, and he returns once again to helm this regional premiere.
NEA Awards Grant to Amphibian Stage Productions
Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, announced on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 that Amphibian Stage Productions has been recommended for a grant of $20,000 to support Jumbies Fort Worth! Amphibian Stage Productions is one of 1,145 not-for-profit national, regional, state, and local organizations recommended for a grant as part of the federal agency's second round of fiscal year 2011 grants. In total, the Arts Endowment will distribute more than $88 million to support projects nationwide.
