BIO

Kate Sullivan Gibbens is a playwright, director, performer, and jam-maker with a love of all things music. She is the creator and Artistic Director of The Album Project. Under the TAP umbrella, Kate has directed "Jagged Little Pill" and "Ed Sheeran's +." Kate is also co-Artistic Director of the newly re-launched Ark Theatre Company, which will debut her play, "click" this fall. Additionally, Kate has directed "Spring Awakening" with glory|struck productions (StageSceneLA award – best direction) and "A Day at The Beaches" at 3 Clubs. While receiving her MFA in playwriting from UCLA, Kate worked co-wrote "8, The Play" with Dustin Lance Black and produced and directed the Sacramento premier of the work, which has now been performed in hundreds of cities across America. Other written works include "The Great Buford Fire Funnel" (UCLA Coppola One-Act Festival), and "Cuore Mio – My Heart" (DC Source Festival). As a performer, Kate appeared in the Nearly Naked Theatre presentation of "The Album Project: Jagged Little Pill" and has hosted far too many piano bars.
