BIO

Hailed as "one of the great originals of her generation" by the New Yorker Magazine, Kate Soper is a Pulitzer-Prize nominated composer, performer, and writer. Her opera "HERE BE SIRENS" received rave reviews as a piece of "audacious, genre-bending music theatre" (The Wall Street Journal) and her music theatre work "IPSA DIXIT" was praised as "comprehensively astounding" and "a twenty-first century masterpiece" (The New Yorker). Describing her work both onstage and behind the scenes, the New York Times cites her "keen intelligence; lacerating wit; a time-traipsing style with extravagant sounds extracted from frugal resources; and, not least, a lithe voice and riveting presence."
