Morrison Hotel Gallery NYC and LA Salutes The Mystical Artistic Auras of Hotel Chelsea and Sunset Marquis with Retrospectives
Hotel Chelsea and the Sunset Marquis are themselves works of art, but these historic buildings are not always the main headliner. If these walls could rock, they would sing with stories spanning the gamut from wandering the halls with Janis, Marilyn, Jimi, and Factory pseudo-superstars to languorous dips in the pool with The Clash, Bob Marley, Blondie, Guns N' Roses, and droves of unrelenting groupies trailing in their wake.

What if? For many, their lives are filled with the search for answers to the questions that tend to keep people awake in the middle of the night, wondering if they'd made another choice how their lives would have been impacted and, more importantly, where they might find themselves instead of lying awake in a cloistered apartment, cut off from adventure and intrigue, living a life largely unexamined until 3 a.m.
What if? Music Theatre of Connecticut, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company, celebrates their 30th anniversary with a one night only evening of food, drink and entertainment. The 30th Anniversary Celebration is set for Saturday, October 15, with food and drink at 6:30pm, followed by a performance in MTC's cozy 110-seat theatre. Tickets are extremely limited and proceeds benefit MTC and its programming.

BWW Review: GYPSY at Music Theatre Of Connecticut
With a minimalist set depicting an abandoned stage - brick wall, ladder, random set pieces, and a piano - Music Theatre of Connecticut begins its 30th season with the iconic musical, Gypsy. Written in 1959, Gypsy harnesses the dream-team creative talents of music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by Arthur Laurents, plus the original production was directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins. All of these legends combined certainly raises the bar for expectation, and therefore, this show can be a difficult one for any theatre to produce. All in all, MTC did a good job of presenting this whirlwind piece. You should go!

The Met's spring 2013 Costume Institute exhibition, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, runs from May 9, 2013 to August 14, 2013. It will examine punk's impact on high fashion from the movement's birth in the early 1970s through its continuing influence today. Featuring approximately one hundred designs for men and women, the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk's visual symbols.
