BIO
Kate was bitten by the theatrical bug when she was a just a tiny tot, guided by parents who were also in the theatre. Growing up in Southern California, Kate put on her first pair of dance shoes at age 3 while waving around a wand in “Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boo” and was suddenly bewitched!
Kate trained at Orange County Song & Dance in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, singing, and acting. She also attended Long Beach Ballet Company and became a company apprentice at 12 years old. She then continued her education in dance at the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center where she added modern dance and hip-hop to her plate of skills. Kate then attended OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts) as a high school freshman studying commercial dance and musical theatre. Of course acting and singing have been passions of hers as well, and she studied privately with coaches in L.A.
Kate started her professional theatrical career as Mary Lennox in “The Secret Garden” in California, and she knew from that moment on she was destined to be in the arts and on the stage! She attended and graduated from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama with a BFA in acting and musical theatre. She also attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) where she studied classical acting in Shakespeare and stage combat/fencing.
Kate has had the honor of working at numerous theaters across the country including Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, The Denver Center, Long Wharf Theatre to name a few, as well as on Broadway. She is also passionate about teaching and has recently begun teaching master classes in dance, acting, and audition preparation at various schools and intensives!
