Miami City Ballet (MCB) welcomes nine new dancers to the company, bringing this season's roster to 53. Under the artistic leadership of Lourdes Lopez and with a growing repertoire of over 130 works that honor the masters while opening pathways for emerging choreographers, MCB is one of the most celebrated and critically acclaimed ballet companies in the country.

Paramount Network to Honor Patrick Swayze in New Documentary
Paramount Network has joined forces with Network Entertainment to celebrate the life of legendary Hollywood figure Patrick Swayze for the latest installment of the I Am documentary franchise. I Am Patrick Swayze will world premiere in the actor's home state at the San Antonio Film Festival on Friday, August 2, and will debut on Swayze's birthday, Sunday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. ETPT on Paramount Network. Patrick Swayze classics Ghost and Dirty Dancing will air leading into the documentary at 3:30 p.m. ETPT and 6:30 p.m. ETPT.

Big Thunder Productions will present Mercury Rising, a Benefit Concert by MSS Alums in the Big Apple, a cabaret event to be performed on Sunday, September 15th at 4pm at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The event will feature songs from new, bound-for-Broadway musicals written by up-and-coming composers and lyricists from all over the globe, including Mercury Summer Stock's own Dan Marshall, Carla Rose Fisher, and Aliyana Stewart. This benefit concert will feature Broadway's Corey Mach and Drew Aber, and over a dozen of Mercury's NYC-based professional alumni, along with special guest Marissa Rosen. The Inugaural Photoville has been announced to be held in Brooklyn Bridge Park. This first major event from Emerging Photography Collective and United Photo Industries will include: free exhibitions in over 35 shipping containers, site-specific works, outdoor projection shows, tents with vendors, publishers and gear demonstrators, a camera obscura, panel discussions and talks, workshops, a foto canine run and a food & beer garden.
