Lear: That Old Man I Used To Know, a new play based on Shakespeare's King Lear, will play A.R.T/New York Theatres (502 W. 53rd Street, between 10th and 11th) beginning September 5 for a limited engagement through September 22, it was announced today.

Normal Ave and Leigh Honigman will present the World Premiere of Of the Woman Came the Beginning of Sin and Through Her We All Die, written by Lily Houghton and directed by Kylie M. Brown at the Medicine Show Theatre (549 W 52nd St, 3rd Floor New York, NY 10019), October 3-20. Tickets ($20-$30) will go on sale September 1. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.

Smith Street Stage will present its first full-length off-Broadway show in September with Lear's Shadow, an original adaptation by Ms. Hopkins of Shakespeare's King Lear. Directed by Beth Ann Hopkins with original music by Elliot Roth, Lear's Shadow will perform September 5th through 22nd at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theater at the A.R.T./New York Theatres on West 53rd St.

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Vivienne Benesch and Managing Director Sarah Clare Corporandy, announced casting for their Mainstage 2015 Season, which includes blending Chautauqua Theater Company alumni with those making their company debuts. Principal actors are Andrew Borba, Carol Halstead, Tangela Large, Manu Narayan, Michael Potts, Shelia Tousey, and Kathryn Hunter Williams. The season features Our Town (July 3-12), Intimate Apparel (July 24-August 2), and Henry V (August 14-21), all performed at the Bratton Theater at Chautauqua Institution.
