Review: WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION at Shaw Festival

Time travel back to the age of film noir when black and white movie dramas were played to the hilt with overarching mannerisms, full of prototypical characters and not too subtle close ups full of tension inducing musical scores. The Shaw Festival is producing one from that ilk with the classic Agatha Christie courtroom mystery WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION and the result is mesmerizing audiences at the Royal George Theatre.

Both a little bit ominous and a little bit magical, this imaginative and surprising take on married life, love and identity opens tonight, January 15 and runs to February 16 (with previews from January 7) in Tarragon's Mainspace.

Canadian Stage Celebrates 30th Anniversary With A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Tonight Through September 2

Canadian Stage presents the 30th anniversary of Toronto's much-loved outdoor theatre tradition, Shakespeare in High Park, with a new production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
