A native of Mexico City, Karen studied acting and directing at Texas State University. Upon graduation, she moved to New York to continue her studies at Circle in the Square Theatre School where she met her mentor Alan Langdon. She currently resides in Los Angeles.

LA Theater: Handcuffed to Darkness (VS Theater) which she both produced and starred in, Bernardo CubrÃa's The Giant Void in my Soul, and The Tragedy (The Pico).
Karen serves as an Associate Artistic Dir and Literary Manager of Animus Theatre Co in NY, and is a member of Ammunition Theatre Co in LA. She recently joined Mesquite Productions where she's devoloping and producing independent films. Spirit Animal: Panzas!
